2021 Seán Ó Faoláin Short Story Competition
The Seán Ó Faoláin Short Story Competition is an annual short story competition sponsored by the Munster Literature Centre, a non-profit arts organization based in Cork city, Ireland.
The competition is open to all writers’ from any region and it only accepts original, unpublished, and unbroadcast short stories in the English language.
Maximum or minimum number of 3,000 words per each story and The story can be on any subject, in any style.

The judge for the 2021 competition is Simon Van Booy.

Every applicant is expected to pay an Entry fee of €18 per story
Prizes to be won
• 1st prize: €2,000, with publication in the literary journal Southword, a week-long residency at Anam Cara Writer’s and Artist’s Retreat.
• 2nd prize: €500 and publication in Southword.
• Four Runners-Up: €250 and publication in Southword.
