HG Wells Short Story Competition 2021/ How To Submit (£1,500 + Publication)
The 2021 annual HG wells short story competition is open once again for interested applicants.
The competition was founded by Reg Turnill; the BBC world-renowned Aeronautic Correspondent and his wife Margaret to commemorate the life and outstanding works of HG Wells so as to motivate creative writing among the young.
The competition offers £500 for the senior and £1,000 for the Junior prize plus free publication of all shortlisted entries, and Professionally published paperback Anthology.
The theme for this year’s competition is “Mask”.
NOTE: All entries must be written in English
The length should range from 1,500 to 5,000 words.
All speech should have a Double quotation mark While single quotation marks will be used for other appropriate purposes.
Each page should be numbered.
All text 12 point, Verdana (for judging – it’s easier to read); and with 1.5 lines spacing;
Single space left after full stops, colons, etc.;
Titles: center, bold;
First paragraph and after each break – no indentation;
NOTE: Each Entry to the competition is to be made here alone, with entrants submitting their story (as a PDF or document).
